An Empire army may include Wolfgang Wirrfeind, Grandmaster of the Order of the White Wolf. If you include Wolfgang Wirrfeind, you must include a regiment of Knights of the White Wolf. Wolfgang Wirrfeind may also be used as the general of the army if you wish, but he does not have to be the general.

Wolfgang is the Grandmaster of one of the most a powerful orders of knights in all of the Old World, and one of the most fanatical opponents of Chaos in all the Empire. He has led his knights into many successful battles against Chaos. Wolfgang is a favorite subject for the songs and stories of bards throughout the northern provinces and has achieved the status of Living Legend among its people.

The Order has its main garrison in the City of Middenheim where it was formed. The leaders of the Order pledge fealty to the Elector Count of the City-State of Middenheim.

Weapons / Armour: WolfgangGeraldo wears a suit of heavy armour. He is armed with a double handed warhammer

May Ride: Geraldo rides a barded warhorse.

Magic Items: The Grandmaster of the Order may carry two magic items. These will always be the two Relics of the Order: the Maul of Middenheim and the Girdle of Middenheim.

Special Rules:

Maul of Middenheim : Legend tells of a stonesmith who was working the foundation of a new Ulrican Temple when a Chaos warband descended onto the area. He knelt within the partially completed temple and whispered a quick prayer, then went forth and slew many chaos warriors with his massive stone maul, some of them with a single blow. His name has been lost to antiquity, but some time later the maul came into the possession of the Order of the White Wolf.

The Maul is a massive twohanded weapon blessed by Ulric, a God of War. It is magically light and may be wielded without the normal penalties to initiative that apply to twohanded weapons. The +2 bonus to strength when attacking with the hammer is used, just like a regular twohanded weapon. In addition, when a hit is scored against a follower of a chaos ghod, like Chaos warriors, knights, champions, sorcerers and daemons, then rolling a natural 6 on the wounding roll will strike with Godly Power and slay the creature with no armor save allowed, not even for magic armor.

Girdle of Middenheim : The Girdle of Middenheim is an elaborately tooled leather apron displaying Symbols of Ulric and Totems of Wolves. Legends say it was the leather stoneworker's apron worn by the stonemason who first wielded the Maul of Middenheim, but has been adorned by the Cult of Ulric and the Knightly Order over the years.

The Girdle is a Device of Protection which confers an additional 5+ unmodified saving throw to its wearer, in addition to the normal armor saving throw. If the wearer is leading a unit of Knights of the White Wolf, then an extra blessing is conferred. The wearer's additional unmodified save becomes 4+, while all other knights in the unit get an additional unmodified save of 6+. Other magical protections cannot be used to boost the saving throw of this item. This item cannot be used to obtain more than one unmodified saving throw.
